Research Focus

In close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT the chair mainly focuses on the design and the assembly of optical systems for lasers and laser application as well as for lighting applications. The design of optical systems is carried out by means of sequential and non-sequential ray-tracing software but also by specifically developed design tools. The design of freeform optics as well as the design, realisation and characterisation of opto-mechnical devices and the integration of actors and sensors into optical systems are further main research fields of the chair.
Additionally, the chair is active in the field of metrology and nano structuring with Extreme Ultraviolet Radiation.
