Collaborative Research Centers and Transregio SFBs

Collaborative research centers (SFB) are long-term research centers of the universities where scientists work together within a framework of an interdisciplinary research program.  Goal of the collaborative research centers is the support of interdisciplinary cooperation and the promotion of young academics and enabling the formation of main focuses at universities by the temporary establishment of excellence clusters. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is involved in three collaborative research centers at RWTH Aachen University and in Five cases provides the spokesperson.
