RCDPP – Research Center for Digital Photonic Production

Topic

The integrative research concept of the CDPP consists in the holistic and simultaneous investigation of the physical interaction between light and matter as well as the production systematic interaction between material and product. A special feature of the CDPP is the common methodology for the integrative diagnosis, modelling and design of photonic process sequences.

Research Goals

  • Integrative research focuses on methods for modeling and designing ultrashort pulse beam sources, selectively controllable high-power diode laser arrays, configurable laser oscillator amplifier platforms, EUV beam sources and ultrafast beam deflection systems.
  • The systematic research and provision of empirical, numerical and analytical methods and models as well as process-adapted materials for novel photonic process sequences. The focus is on the three material classes metals, semiconductors and biomaterials.
  • The integrative research of individual photonic manufacturing processes and their integration into process and value chains. In addition to research into vertical process chains, the aim is their integration into continuous horizontal process chains (component design - production - post-processing and finishing). This lays the foundation for the following industrial series production of innovative products.
