Do you study mechanical engineering or business engineering with a specialisation in mechanical engineering and would like to add an international component to your studies that goes on abroad for one or two semesters? Then the T.I.M.E. (Top International Managers in Engineering) Program offers you the opportunity to complete your studies at RWTH Aachen University and to get to know the study system and life at one of the leading technical universities in Madrid. You can expect an exciting and diversified, internationally oriented study program, at the end of which you will not only have improved your knowledge of the country and its languages, but which will also distinguish you with a double degree from an internationally renowned university. The program allows for the participation of three students per academic year.
The following courses can be taken at the Comillas Universidad Pontificia:
- Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (3 semester)
It is also possible to obtain another degree from Comillas Universidad. A stay of one more semester is necessary for this. After successful completion, students receive two degrees from Spain and a degree from Aachen.

How does the T.I.M.E. program work with Comillas Universidad Pontificia?
You will complete your Bachelor's degree in a regular way at the RWTH Aachen University. Ideally, and in order not to risk any further delay in your studies by participating in the T.I.M.E. exchange, you will start your Master's degree in a Mechanical Engineering Master's program in the summer semester following the application period. You will complete the regular first master semester and then continue your studies for up to 2 years at Comillas Universidad. There you will attend modules in your specialisation and write a research paper. Modules with a maximum of 30 CP can be integrated into your local curriculum in the context of a change in the curriculum.
After your stay at the Comillas Universidad you will return to the RWTH Aachen University and write your final thesis in Aachen (Supervision is provided by professors of the RWTH Aachen University and professors of the Comillas Universidad). With the award of the "Master of Science RWTH Aachen University" you will also receive one or two Master degrees from Comillas Universidad.
What benefits are included in participation in the program?
Participation in the T.I.M.E. exchange exempts you from the tuition fees of the partner university. In addition, you are guaranteed a place in a hall of residence (subject to a fee). On-site support is provided by the International Office of the partner university.
For a period of up to 12 months, support is possible through an ERASMUS scholarship.
What academic qualifications will be recognized by my participation in the program?
Participants can have up to 30 CP recognised for their Master's degree course in their home country within the framework of a change in the curriculum. The extended duration of study justifies the award of two or three degrees.

What application documents must be submitted?
Please submit the following documents via theplatform Moveon by the application deadline - January 15th of each year:
- Letter of motivation in English language (1-2 pages)
- Curriculum vitae in English language
- Overview of marks in English (issued by the Central Examination Office)
- Proof of language skills:
o Spanish: at least B2- level - If applicable, certificates of voluntary commitment
Which evaluation criteria does the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering apply?

The selection is made by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. You will be informed of the decision in writing (in March).
Your stay abroad starts in September of the same year. In case of nomination, the study abroad advisory service of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will support you in further preparations.
