First Year Students

 

Dear First Year Students,

welcome to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University!

In the winter semester 2023/24, the first year student induction week will take place from October 2, 2023. 

You should definitely join the introduction week, because on these days there is a systematic introduction to the daily study routine and many important questions are clarified.

For you as a newly graduated student to start well informed in the first lectures, our mechanical engineering student council, in coordination with us, your faculty organizes the induction week.

At the beginning of the first semester week, you will be welcomed by the rector, the dean and the student council in an introductory event in the CARL lecture hall building. During this event, you will be given a lot of important information for the rest of the week and your upcoming studies.

During the induction week, the student council will explain the university to you, and you will learn about the duties, rights and deadlines of everyday university life. All first year students will be organized into small groups and experienced tutors will guide you through the first days and weeks or even months. During the week and in the course of various events you will get to know the university, the city and your fellow students. Important questions will be answered, you will learn how to register for exams, what RWTHonline actually is and where to find the lecture hall buildings and the Mensa.
